Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Manage all aspects of food preparation and baking under the guidelines of HACCP & GMP’s.  Oversee and monitor the performance of production operations as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, sanitation, customer service and waste control.
  • Participate in the yearly Food Safety audit and assist in the development of procedures & corrective actions
  • Interact with Employees, Supervisors and Managers on a daily basis to resolve technical problems, scheduling conflicts, equipment issues and employee concerns  
  • Ensure that the training for second shift production hourly employees, as related to their specific job functions, is being performed 
  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring and enforcing a safe work environment for all employees
  • Properly guide employees to be efficient without sacrificing safety and quality.
  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices(GMPs) are followed
  • Plan and coordinate daily production by placing workers effectively
  • Communicate necessary information to other departments to ensure efficient production
  • Ensure area and equipment is sanitized properly
  • Track and approve daily attendance using Time and Attendance system
  • Hold training meetings daily/weekly for safety, GMPs and new procedures or processes
  • Complete employee reviews when applicable
  • Review and complete product job jackets  
  • Update status board for department case attainment as scheduled
  • Participate in production shop floor meetings as scheduled
  • Responsible for turning all documents into the proper departments
  • Complete shift summary and email to factory personnel
  • Complete run cost tracker or enter production operation labor hours and quantities in JD Edwards 
  • Work order completion and review in new JD Edwards system 
  • Keep all lines producing in a timely, efficient, accurate, and productive manner
  • Conduct hourly line checks and administer expectations.
  • Attend all mandatory training as required
  • Support and actively seek opportunities to drive the Continuous Improvement efforts forward and communicate ideas to manager.
  • Participate as needed in factory events/projects (inventory, celebrations, etc.)
  • Participate or lead capital and non-capital projects.
  • Lead department safety committee (as needed)
  • Other duties as assigned
  •  College Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of Supervisory or leadership experience in a food service environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Detail Oriented
  • Competent in Outlook, Word, and Excel (familiarity with JD Edwards systems a plus)
  • Knowledge of basic Continuous Improvement tools and lean manufacturing principles a plus
  • Bi-lingual – English and Spanish/Somali a plus
