PURPOSE:
Manage all aspects of food preparation and packaging under the guidelines of good Manufacturing Practices.  Oversee and monitor the performance of Second Shift Operations as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, waste control, and service to sales
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –
Interact with employees, Supervisors, Shift Manager, and Production Manager on a daily basis to resolve technical problems, scheduling conflicts, equipment issues and employee concerns.  The emphasis is to open communication networks, share ideas while working toward continuous improvement
  • Manage second shift finishing/packaging operation for compliance with GMP’s and safety procedures
  • Verify the MOS system input is accurate for shift
  • Participate in the SQF yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures & corrective actions
  • Conduct group meetings with all second shift employees to maintain open communication, air out concerns and keep our people well informed as to the future of the operation and company
  • Train hourly employees as related to their specific job function
  • Ensure that all operating procedures and standards are being adhered to at all times
  • Provide technical support to the hourly employees
  • Monitor proper utilization of all processing paperwork
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all employees
  • Must actively participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Monitor JD Edwards
  • Ensure Visual Performance Boards are completed accurately and in timely manner
  • Ensure production schedules are met daily
  • Update, monitor, and maintain time and attendance in KRONOS for regular and temporary staff
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES -  
  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma (Minimum)
  • 3 plus year of production experience in a high-speed operation
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive interpersonal skills; Bi-lingual skills a plus (English/Spanish)
  • Conflict Resolution ability
