Essential functions:
  • The Human Resources responsibilities include day to day administration of employment related policies and programs at the Le Center facility. The incumbent oversees as well as performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: Employment (from recruit to retire), Employee Relations, Temporary Employment Contract Administration (enforcement and interpretation), Training & Development, Employment Equity, New Hire Orientation, Employee Benefits and enrollment guidance/assistance; and  Compensation Management. 
  • The Safety responsibilities include maintaining confidential, accurate, up-to-date medical and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) processes and records. Manages the Worker Compensation Programs. Administers first-aid medical treatment in cases of work-related accidents or illness.  Manages job performance health-related issues. Develops and implements programs and processes to heighten awareness of employee safety and reduce risks of near misses, injuries, and illness deemed work-related.
  • The incumbent works closely with the Le Center Plant Manager, Plant Management staff, and is a member of the site leadership team.
Knowledge/Experience/Competencies:
  • Bachelors Degree, plus a minimum of 7 years human resources experience
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and/or other Human Resources programs. 
  • Bi-lingual skills preferred (English-Spanish/English-Somali)
  • Prior experience in worker’s compensation management
  • Ability to work in a team environment promoting safety and loss prevention to all employees at all times
  • Exposure to a factory environment and industrial safety programs
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels in the organization, treating everyone as a customer.
  • The incumbent must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs.
