This is a Full Time -Position
  • Follow company Food Safety Plan and report any food safety issues to supervisor or immediately.
  • Provide guidance for employees on proper food safety and handling practices
  • Check sanitation chemicals  and verify the correct procedures are being followed
  • Verify sanitation procedures with ATP Machine
  • Responsible for proper documentation/record keeping for all food safety and quality activities as required by the food safety plan.
  • Review cooler and freezer records to ensure they are completed properly
  • Verify monitoring equipment such as metal detection and weigh check are performing properly during the shift with a verification step
  • Perform EMP swabbing as needed
  • Perform Sensory evaluation on finished product
  • Collects samples of ingredients, WIP, finished product as needed for analysis.
  • Performs monthly glass and brittle plastic audit and participates in the monthly GMP audit for the facility  
  • Responsible for inspecting proper sanitation of area at pre-operational/setup (Pre-op), during production with emphasis at product changeover and end of shift/production.
  • Performs daily quality walk through for each shift, and following up with the necessary personnel for corrective actions
  •  Monitor the production records on the floor to ensure that they are traceable and completed.
  • Oversee the safe food practices involved in production and the warehouse with safety focus on personal hygiene, product storage, and product temperature.
  • Responsible for properly and safely using equipment and ensuring it is suitable for safe use.
  • Work with all associates to maintain a state of inspection readiness at all time.
  • Monitor production to ensure all ingredients and supplies are properly stored and labeled at all times.
  • Any other duties as required by Quality Assurance Manager or senior leadership.
  • proven work history in within Food Safety environment  
  • High school Diploma or equivalent; college education preferred
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in the bakery environment
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with others
  • Knowledge of baking and finished products
  • Team- oriented approach to problem solving and trouble shooting, with strong communication and teaching skills
  • Must be able to work well with peers as well as supervisors
  • Analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, Analysis reporting, GMP's and  FDA requirements
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions and process of the job
  • Experience with computer programs as in Microsoft word and excel
  • Flexibility to work other shifts as needed. May be required to work overtime, on Production line or in Sanitation as needed
  • Goal oriented; ability to learn new tasks
